This article might be long but know it’s
never my intention. I just start writing always hoping to write something
simple and short so I can get back to gaming and then (((BOOOOOOM))), I’ve
written 3000-5000 words. I’m sorry people it’s never my fault ok!!! Anyway, to
start off I figured I’d share a 9 min video that highlights the 9 problems
South Africa is and has been facing:
It’s funny because this video only has like
30000 views and you’d expect more on it but then again I realize that young
people today would rather be entertained than to be educated in South Africa
and I guess that’s why I made this a closed letter because I realize that not
many people will read it but that doesn’t mean it should stop me from writing
this post because I feel it was necessary. This was supposed to be a chapter in
my book which I’m aiming to get published this year but figured that there’s no
harm in putting it out there before. Just a bit of a cool trailer you know!! Hahaha! Anyway I’m supposed to be serious here I know,
so let me be serious.
So South Africa....... Shit. Where do I even begin?
Ok so the video I hoped you watched
should’ve shed a light on what’s going on in our country and what problems we
are facing. I can only hope that it has hit a part of you because the video was
released 2 years ago by the NPC and it’s rather crucial as it is it interesting.
If the first link didn’t work here it is again because it’s imperative that we
be on the same page going forward, it’s only 9 min hey.
So let’s talk about what happened in South
Africa. We had apartheid for however many years it was, non white South
Africans were treated like shit, and then one day it ended, we had elections in
1994 and with that a new republic and country was formed and we’re like 20
years from that time. In 20 years the question is what has happened? Are people
happy or do people feel like more could’ve been done? We have a situation where
inequality, unemployment, disease and crime is running rife in our country and
as much as we know all about it, it seems that we’re happy just as long as it’s
not happening to us. Our schools are few and full, and the only way to cut the
supply of job seekers is to hike up prices of fees and they keep them in school
longer by introducing what is called academic inflation which means that a
person might now need a masters degree to get a job a normal degree would’ve
been enough long time ago which is simple demand and supply ideas. Your Wits’s
and UCT’s are more favoured in the eyes of employers and if you went to those
schools and got an engineering, accounting, economics, medicine or finance
degree you’re basically set for life. The question I ask or care about is what
about the rest of the people?? We have laws now that force people to hire more
black people in companies with sometimes little regard for skills. We have
greedy BEE laws that give privileges to black people in business with sometimes
no regard for the viability and feasibility of the business only have them
sometimes fail and that means white South Africans sometimes have no access to
funding and it puzzles me I mean REALLY?? Corruption is the thing today and we
just see it happening around us and tweet our anger but carry on with our lives
and ya that’s what we as South Africans are today, that’s the best we’ve been
able to do. I think this is all bullshit and being who I am, I’m going to tell
you why and then leave you with my thoughts.
I’ve always been one to educate myself
because I was always curious about ALL things around me; I mean I always found
everything and everyone around me to be so fascinating. I’ve loved science and
since I can remember all that but the most fascinating thing I’ve come across
has always been history. Just to understand how the world became how it became
today blows my mind whenever I see it all around me. Once a person understands the power of
history, that person undergoes an inner transformation like no other because
history is something that cuts and breaks away dogma and exposes it for what it
is and so I’m going to give a little history lesson here. Not everyone will
like the truth but fuck it, the truth is the truth. Black and white people need
to understand what happened in history to see that all this hatred towards one
another is silly, stupid and more importantly hinders our much needed human
evolution seeing that it has been hindered for over 400 years now... I'll only do a lil summary but if you want to read further into History, get this book even though the 1600 pages seem intimidating, it's pretty mind-blowing:
Human beings existed and life began in
Africa as a civilization whenever it was even though I doubt we are the first
human species to have ever existed because common sense says to me that there
was one continent and they broke away bit by bit and because we’re not bumping
into Australia tomorrow, says to me that this Earth thing has been here for a
fucken long time but that’s an issue for another day. Life began in Africa many
thousands of years ago and the people began to do the human thing and was
enlightened somehow and did all the things that they did. For instance the
first university was in Morocco and was called a “university” because it was
literally the study of the [universe]. They created math, science, astrology,
the arts, music and built castles in Ethiopia, the pyramids and some other
ancient buildings the media just doesn’t show. They eventually multiplied over
time and began to explore and share their knowledge with everyone and so the
world began. Now different climatic conditions meant that biologically, humans
had to adapt to different environments over thousands of years and this was the
beginning of this shit concept called “race”. We had African people on the move
from Central Africa, through Egypt to the desert areas where Babylon, Assyria,
Mesopotamian and Persian civilisations happened. These are the areas that are
found around the Euphrates and Jordan River systems close to Israel today.
History and Archaeology seems to then say that there was an Ice age in the northern
Persian or Eurasia area which we know as Europe today and it was below freezing
for a couple of thousand years. I’m talking Antarctica all day, errrday for a
couple of millennia here all with their Y2K bug thingy’s (hahaha remember that
Y2K bullshit story??). The place looked like this they say basically:
Brrrrrrrrr!!
Now over those years if you understand the
human body you know that it has to be warm but not hot or cold. In Africa,
Africans developed melanin, wide noses (for more air intake to cool the brain)
and the hair that they did (the hair was crossed in and clung together to let
as little light rays to the scalp as possible) to combat the extreme heat
conditions of Africa. Now to the people, who moved up to the world and were now
caught in the ice age, were forced to adapt. It’s interesting to note that a
lot of people were born and died not ever knowing what summer was ever! Poor
souls hey... But ya the most important area on the body is the brain, so Darwin’s
natural selection theory says that the body had to now survive by adaptation to
protect the brain all for purposes of survival. The human nose had to be
thinner to take less cold air in so as to keep the brain warm and what did the
hair do?? It had to grow longer to keep the neck warm where all the signals
that go to and from the body to the brain had to pass through. They became
hairy all over their bodies, lost the melanin and became pale in skin because
of the lack of sunlight they had. Their eyes became lighter because they had to
take less UV rays in and because most of what was around them was ice and
water, and their eyes naturally took the lighter blue Scandinavian shades and
so on. What I’m basically what I’m trying to say here people is that white
people were born. If you wondered why
white people love the air-con so much, this is why and I think that the human
body is truly a remarkable thing. I don’t know why white people hate being too
pale but I guess it’s also the reason why black people hate being too dark
giving birth to the rise of the “yellow bone syndrome” but ya. White people
were born and they naturally formed their own clans, empires, way of life and
their languages developed. We had the Greek empire, to the Roman Empire and so
on, the church developed and life happened over time with their monarchies. I
want you to understand that it is natural for civilisations/empires to rise and
fall. No empire or order can rule or remain forever.
Around the 13th century we had a
period in Europe called the “Mercantilism” period which was a period where the
nations believed that the more raw materials and minerals a country had, it was
wealthier and as a result better off. They accumulated gold, silver and bronze
as it was a means of trade at the time. They also understood that natural resources
were limited and that’s what sparked colonialism and hence you had the
explorers or settlers go all over the world to accumulate more resources. They
came to Africa and saw the abundance of Africa and decided to colonize it the
way they did and that’s how all these languages are all here. I don’t know when
exactly things fell apart, but I want you to know that Africans were doing
their own thing and traded their knowledge, music and secrets and that was all
taken. Bear in mind as I said before that civilizations rise and fall and that
was the fall of the African empire and lineage. Now understand that when lion
alpha males fight and the one takes over the pride, it makes sure it kills off
any offspring from the former lineage and as a result wipes its evidence of its
existence. Now that’s what nations did before; they invaded lands, killed off
the men, took the women and children as slaves and mentally programmed them to
have an inferiority complex for their own purposes. This happened to Africans
too, because their history and identity was wiped out and they were taken as
slaves as any empire would during a takeover. Their surnames became the same as
their owners to signify they were owned. This is why all black Americans have
the surnames they have today and why Malcolm X had the surname “X” because he
knew he had no idea of his lineage but preferred to go by a pseudo surname... Anyway
over time, money happened, the UK, US and European dominance grew over time and
people fought over land, power, religion and their radical ideas and had the
discrimination they had. Discrimination was never a colour thing, one group
always thought that they were superior and took over the other. This happened
with Jews, Africans and even white people amongst themselves who had different background
beliefs and that is probably why this whole Israel Palestine thing is also
happening, always some idiot who has some self righteous and self justified
reason to feel superior. RISE AND FALL OF CIVILIZATIONS... History lesson is
now over.
Now that we have that out the way, let’s
talk about today and our current situation.
Apartheid came and rocked this country but
like any other civilization based on idealism it fell apart and this is what
has happened. I want people especially black people to understand that for
400-500 years nothing was contributed by them because remember our history was
wiped out. White people developed the world as we know it to be as much as
people find that to be a hard pill to swallow. No modern architecture, no
transportation no infrastructure no nothing and not because of lack of ability
but because a previous empire fell and was taken over and knowledge of its
former self and glory was wiped out. Now we’re here, 20 years after 1994 and
we’ve all integrated and we can roam free although most people are still
economically oppressed.
I’ll create an allegory which I’d like to
call the South African Marriage divorce allegory just because it sounds cool...
We have a situation where the white
population married the black population in South Africa and the “relationship”
was ”abusive” and the black people filed for “divorce”, developed their own independence
but are in a lawyer fight because the whole marriage was in “community of
property” and people are now fighting for that 50% thing. If your parents have gone
through a divorce, you know how intense this fight is. This is also what
happened in Zimbabwe. I’d be upset if I build something for so long and I was
expected to give it away. Apart from the obvious racism that happens, it becomes
worse when people are forced to fight for the same things because whoever loses
will blame something he believes the other possesses to have allowed him to
have had an advantage and in most cases it happens to be race. White people
built their own empires and they are all being taken over by black people and
the thing is causing uproar. There’s a mini civil war between black people
themselves now too; the have not’s treat the well off black people with despise
and it’s becoming a situation. The funny thing is that our country’s problem
isn’t anything big, it’s just the simple fact that we have all just failed to
produce or create further and more bearing in mind that our economy was
originally built for 8 million people and then opened to now 50.7 million
people!! I mean hello simple mathematics!! We are all trying to fit through a
tiny ass door and we are fighting for the same limited things instead of building
and creating more things/doors. Please Google the story of H.F. Verwoerd and see
how this guy used his Psychology PhD, with his Nazi taught philosophies to
create apartheid with the help of sociology, theology, law, economics and
geography. The shit is mind blowing but it shows the impact of a single human
soul on fire because he was motivated by how dirt poor Afrikaans people were
after the great depression. When you’re done with that please Google a theory
called “learned helpless” which speaks of an experiment done on cats in the
1970s. It’s an interesting read but it should make you realize that apartheid
attacked the mind and that says nothing about the ability. If you limit the
mind you limit the potential but let’s stop there.
Enough with the issues, let’s talk about
the positives before I close off.
South Africa is a beautiful country and I
love being from here. Apartheid was shit and one of the worst things to have
ever happened but some good shit came from that government. As vile as those
people were they created the roads and cities we have today, they created the
schools we have, created a currency the world can recognize, made the country
accessible with our world class airports. The country is powered and cellular
connectivity is a norm and so is our digital sphere. We have restaurants, fast
food chains and South Africa is a country that other countries have felt
comfortable investing in. And we have sport and teams like the cricket and
rugby sides that actually win shit, and we also have Oscar Pestorious! I don’t
know if people have went to other African countries but shit this country is
light years ahead of other countries I mean we hosted the fucken World Cup here
and that for me is amazing. We speak beautiful languages and have our own way
of doing things which makes this place an amazing place to live. Sure white
people are wealthy but you can’t blame someone for being born into an
advantage. These are the things we have to be thankful for because the previous
government brought it here and created all this for us. Some won’t agree but
just look around you, go to other African countries and come back here and talk
to me. We were given a beautiful platform to be great and for that I thank
those apartheid losers because now we can cause a bit of a stir in the world.
Once again, remember that our problem is
that we have failed to create and do more. I understand that a person can only
do as much as he knows he can and I think we’ve done a bad job and opening the
options up to everyone. We are all born equal but not all of us were born with
equal opportunities and that’s another story. White people shouldn’t feel bad
for having had advantage in the past because the African empire fell at its
time and that’s what history did. My problem is with those who still harbour
that racist mentality now because it’s stupid but that’s their problem. Not all
black people like the ANC and what Zuma is doing, I included but that’s not my
issue again.
I’m writing to you today because I can’t
accept it anymore. I’ve been sent here to educate, inspire, enlighten and fuel
a new change and that’s what I’m doing. I got my degree from Wits University
but left it there because I wanted to do more not for me but for my country and
the people in it. I could’ve made it in corporate as whatever, worked for a
great company but I was a given a gift and a deep care for society as a whole
and so I couldn’t allow myself to just make it on my own. I’m a highly intuitive
and cosmically connected individual which led me to become an entrepreneur and
have done some world class things now and I’ve seen that anything is possible regardless
of what was thought before. My call goes out to all the young people of all
races out there that want to do more and are capable of doing more. I know it’s
not easy but it has to be done. Not everyone is a leader and not everyone can
start something, because we are all not strong enough but the truth is that if
we don’t, then this whole thing falls apart. If what I’ve written here has hit
you, it means you know you should be doing more, it’s not easy but it’s the
curse and burden we great people must undergo and carry. It’s time for us to stop looking at government
and start doing and creating our own shit. In a book I read recently it said
that regardless of how talented or ambitious one or his parents can be, the
time he is born into can render all that potential as useless.
This was the case for the eastern European Jews
who moved to New York in search of a better life and were there around World
War 1 and the ones who came after World War 2. Those that were there before World
War 1, had to live through that and the great depression whereas those born
post World War 2 and The Great Depression were born into abundance and that is
the time the Steve Jobs and bill Gates’ were born into. We must now understand
that we are in that golden era of South African history and the time is just
right for us to have some serious fun, maybe that’s what they meant during the
world cup when they said “feel it, it’s here!” haha.
Our currency is out of control, our
manufacturing sector was decapitated by the global crisis if 2009 and we have
become a paperwork country with laws that seem to put apartheid in reverse.
There’s no secret that unemployment and crime move with a one for one rate and
right now looking at the current youth population, if nothing is done, we can
agree we’ll have an angry youth who can be capable of anything seeing as 52% of
South Africa is under the age of 25.
“The problem is that no government can
create real jobs, only entrepreneurs can do that” – Midas Touch
A French guy called Bernard de Mandeville
wrote a book called “Fable of the bees”
in the 1800’s and basically said that if bees in a hive focus on themselves and
push self interest the hive itself will be better off. He basically said that
as long as the bees were empowered to do whatever they wanted to do without
worrying about the hive, the hive would ultimately be ok i.e. Private vice
produces public virtue and that is where Adam Smith got his invisible hand
theory. If we can just get to a point where we understand the bigger picture
and pursue our own ambitions without worrying about the country, the country
will be well off. It’s not even about creating jobs for people, it’s about
empowering the youth to employ themselves because what we have now is a wealthy
nation that is being pushed by few people who are foreigners, get our currency
and send it abroad to either India, China, Pakistan, Middle Africa or whatever
which never enters our banks which renders our country poorer. If South
Africans only understood the gold mine South Africa is... All that has happened
is that they’ve produced a consumer and paperwork country out of us and that
renders us helpless. I have no issues with foreigners because they are just trying
to make a living but it hurts our economy and that has to be sorted out in its
way. We also have to get rid of this trying to get famous celebrity bullshit
thing because that industry is fake, trying to copy Hollywood and they know it.
I’m speaking to all the real South Africans who care about this place, not the
ones who live in an illusion and pry off the helpless minds of our people by
appearing as gods to them when they really are common and broke. If being a
celebrity is your dream then let it be so but work hard at it because you people
waste our time trying to get us to buy your stuff when we can see not much effort
was put into it. Don’t expect us to buy your shit simply because you expect us
to support, no! If South Africans shoot movies, at least shoot a good trailer
to entice me but don’t expect me to drive past a billboard and expect to see me
at a Ster Kinekor. Those in the entertainment industry must work harder,
smarter and begin to innovate because their contributions are only like R141
mil, which is a wannabe fraction/percentage of the $3.50bn GDP (2013 amount in
real terms) but enough of that.
I see us building new major cities,
renewable energy and roads because what has happened in Gauteng is totally ridiculous.
There are more unemployed people in Gauteng (1.2mil) than there are people living
in the Northern cape (like 250000 people). It’s time we start producing our own
goods, our own cars, our own phones, own software, own industries, new schools
and new education systems.
“If
you don’t produce anything, all you can be proud of, is what you consume” –
Td Jakes, And that’s what has happened
to us and that is why all these multinationals can come here open a burger king
and people can accept a line equivalent to the 1994 voters line. I want you to
say something to yourself and never forget it:
THE
SOUTH AFRICAN MARKET IS WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE OPEN AND THAT THEN MEANS
THAT THE AFRICAN MARKET IS ALSO WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE OPEN
BECAUSE SOUTH AFRICA IS THE SILICON VALLEY OF AFRICA AND IF YOU CAN MAKE AN
INNOVATION WORK IN AFRICA, IT CAN WORK ANYWHERE!!
I met a 23 year old Entrepreneur the other night who's hungry and doing big things and he told me this is what he thinks of his Finance degree:
hahaha I died! But this is the sort of thinking that builds/creates...
I do know that funding is a problem but I
plan to do what I can to try to connect the funding agencies with entrepreneurs
of [all] races who want to do things because I’ve done it and I don’t care
about making it for myself. You can make it all you want, but to me if you can’t
put someone on and empower someone else, you haven’t done shit. Let’s leave the
government to be corrupt as they are and let’s stop being surprised by it, but
understand that it’s on us to build this nation because the times are right and
ripe for the South African story to be written and told. Look at your peers and
start sharing ideas together and even start investing in your mates if you have
to because that’s how I started (with my best friend (25) giving me his last
R7000 because he trusted my vision). I’m sick of traffic, power cuts, grocery
lines and all that and as an epic serial entrepreneur, whenever I see or hear
problems I think “challenge accepted with some fun” but I can’t do this thing
alone. If we don’t do anything as a whole we are going to lose it all and we’ll
have only ourselves to blame.
I hope you see that it was never a black or
white thing but in all civilizations we can agree that shit happens but it’s
not about forgetting or getting over it, but it’s about focusing on the now
& moving forward. I don’t want white people to leave the country and I’m
also tired of seeing people without hope and that’s where we as young people,
black or white have to do what we can, and I’m not saying it’ll happen
overnight but what I do know is that sometimes you have to throw a stone into stagnant
waters just to get things moving. I look forward to competing with some guys in
the market on some Andrew Carnegie vs. John D Rockefeller tip even though
you’ll probably lose to me but hey we can hope right?? Haha jokes (ok fuck that
I’m not joking I’m 26 & ready to go!) haha anyway to close off I’ll leave
you with something powerful I wrote, a link to the Stats SA GDP indicators, the usual Drake song and another cool a song too & also remember to read read read!!

cards you’re dealt with at birth don’t matter, it’s the cards that fall out of
